Lab in the phenomenal color Brass is the highest quality material produced in Poland by Imagine s.c. The Silk series was designed to obtain an exceptionally high, satin gloss (silk-like finish), which spectacularly reflects light and makes the finished models look as if made of polished, brushed brass or antique gold.

Thanks to its optically advanced structure, this filament fantastically masks the boundaries between subsequent layers, making the extrusion lines almost invisible on the side walls. Prof. Lab Silk PLA is an extremely user-friendly material and perfect for beginners and advanced 3D printing enthusiasts. It combines uncompromising aesthetics with the legendary ease of processing classic polylactide - it is characterized by excellent interlayer adhesion and very low thermal shrinkage (low warping), which allows for stable printing without the need for a closed chamber. This filament is an ideal choice for the production of decorative models, vases, statuettes, medals, historical replicas, props (cosplay), artistic articles as well as mock-ups and exhibition models.

Recommendations and suggested print settings:

To obtain the best results for surface smoothness, optimal layer bond strength and enhanced brass shine, it is recommended to use the following configuration settings:

• Nozzle temperature: 185°C - 215°C (The recommended starting point is approximately 200°C-205°C. A higher temperature within the normal range usually enhances the spectacular mirror shine effect).

• Table temperature (Heated bed): 25°C - 60°C (For glass or PEI coated platforms, the optimal range is 50-60°C; when using adhesive bases, cold printing is also possible).

• Print cooling: 100% (Intensive blowing from the second layer ensures impeccable reproduction of overhangs and sharp geometric details).

• Speed tip: To obtain a perfectly uniform, glossy coating without local matting, it is recommended to maintain a constant, moderate printing speed for external walls (e.g. 45-55 mm/s).

• Compatibility with nozzles: The filament is homogeneous, does not contain abrasive particles and is 100% safe for standard brass nozzles with a diameter of 0.4 mm and smaller.
