This material is based on modified polylactide, which guarantees a spectacular, glossy finish with a natural silk structure (Silk finish). The Rainbow Light version offers a unique, sequential color change in gentle, pastel and bright tones, which allows you to obtain stunning, multi-colored models without the need to use advanced multi-material systems. The satin, deep gloss of the surface perfectly disperses the light, making the boundaries of individual layers almost invisible straight from the working platform. It is an ideal choice for printing decorative models, sculptures, vases, figurines, artistic decorations and exhibition gadgets.

Properties and advantages of the Smart Print Silk PLA Rainbow Light filament:

• Spectacular silky gloss (Silk Effect): Special refining additives give the print surface a high gloss imitating metal or satin silk. The material perfectly masks the lines of the layers, giving the models a luxurious, smooth character.
• Smooth, pastel color transitions: Colors change cyclically during printing. Each model becomes a unique work of art - the final visual effect and the frequency of changes in light shades depend on the dimensions of the model and the density of the infill used.

Recommendations and suggested print settings:

Silk materials are extremely easy to process, but the degree of gloss obtained depends directly on the temperature and printing speed. The following data are recommended guidelines:

• Head temperature (hotend): 200°C - 230°C (Tip: A higher temperature in this range usually allows you to obtain the maximum mirror shine from the material, while a lower temperature gives a more satin finish)

• Table temperature (bed): 40°C – 60°C

• Print cooling: 80-100% (Intensive airflow helps maintain impeccable geometry of details and smooth overhangs)

• Retraction tip: Due to the increased elasticity and fluidity of the melted Silk PLA polymer, it is recommended to precisely adjust the retraction length and speed to avoid fine stringing. The material does not have abrasive properties - standard brass nozzles can be used without any problems.
