Professional Smart Print Silk PLA filament in an elegant Silver color is the highest quality material produced in Poland by Imagine s.c. The Silk series was created to obtain an exceptionally high, satin gloss (silk-like finish), which spectacularly reflects light and makes the finished models look as if made of polished metal.

Thanks to its optically advanced structure, this filament fantastically masks the boundaries between subsequent layers, making the extrusion lines almost invisible and the surfaces become perfectly smooth. Smart Print Silk PLA contains special, modern inhibitors that significantly improve mechanical durability, increase flexibility and prevent brittleness of models, while maintaining the legendary ease of printing classic polylactide. The material is characterized by excellent interlayer adhesion and very low shrinkage (minimal warping), which allows for trouble-free printing without the need to use a closed chamber. This filament is an ideal choice for the production of decorative models, vases, statuettes, jewelry, armor replicas, props (cosplay), artistic articles and show models.

Recommendations and suggested print settings:

Due to the content of optical modifiers giving the "Silk" effect, it is recommended to use slightly higher printing temperatures to obtain maximum shine and durability:

• Nozzle temperature: 200°C - 230°C (It is recommended to start from ~215°C. A higher extrusion temperature usually enhances the effect of a spectacular, mirror shine).

• Table temperature (Heated bed): 40°C - 60°C (For glass platforms or PEI sheets, the optimal range is 50-60°C).

• Print cooling: 80% - 100% (Intensive blowing ensures impeccable reproduction of overhangs and sharp geometric details).

• Speed tip: To obtain a perfectly uniform, glossy coating without matte zones, it is recommended to maintain a constant, moderate printing speed on the outer walls (e.g. 40-60 mm/s, depending on the kinematics of the printer).

• Compatibility with nozzles: The filament does not contain abrasive particles and is 100% safe for standard brass nozzles with a diameter of 0.4 mm and smaller.
